Saskatchewan Innovation & Opportunity Scholarships winner

Luan Manh Chu, PhD student in Health Sciences program, College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, has been awarded the $20,000 Saskatchewan Innovation & Opportunity Scholarship by the College of Graduate Studies and Research. These scholarships support innovative research in the University of Saskatchewan’s signature areas and recognize graduate students who have demonstrated research potential and academic excellence. Mr. Chu is working towards his PhD research under the supervision of Drs. Joshua Lawson and Donna Rennie. His project, titled Farm exposures and prevalence of atopy among school-aged children in agricultural settings, aims to evaluate the role of farm-related environmental and lifestyle factors and the nature of atopy in school-age children (Grades 1-6) in Hutterite and non-Hutterite rural populations in rural Saskatchewan, Canada.
