The funders that support our work join us in facing the challenge to improve the delivery of rural dementia care.

Our research focuses on the people of Saskatchewan. However, by sharing and working with international researchers who also work with rural populations we are not only better able to address the impact of dementia in our community, we are also better able to share our Saskatchewan-based knowledge internationally.

Our Funders

The original New Emerging Team (NET) Grant (2003-2009) that supported the initial development of our Rural Dementia Care team and the Rural and Remote Memory Clinic was awarded through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) with funding support from University of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF), Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, and Telehealth Saskatchewan (in kind). Since 2009, the Rural and Remote Memory Clinic has continued providing services to the people of Saskatchewan through funding from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health and bridge funding from Saskatoon Health Region.

Currently, many research activites are funded through Dr. Debra Morgan's Applied Chair in Health Services and Policy Research (2009 - 2014), titled Healthcare Delivery Across the Continuum for Rural and Remote Seniors with Dementia which is awarded jointly from CIHR Institute of Health Services & Policy Research and the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF).
